Rightly Dividing the Noise: A Watchman’s Perspective on 2026

Sola Afolayan explores the 2026 global shifts—from the Middle East to the Euphrates—through the lens of 'rightly dividing' policy and prophecy. A Watchman’s guide to navigating chaos with clarity.

As we approach the horizon of March 2026, the global atmosphere feels thick—almost electric. Headlines are heavy, the geopolitical landscape is shifting beneath our feet, and the Middle East continues to simmer with tensions that echo ancient patterns. Even the slow drying of the River Euphrates—once a distant curiosity—now reads like a footnote in a much larger narrative. It’s no surprise that the nations seem to “rage” and the people “imagine a vain thing” (Psalm 2). The volume of the world has been turned up, and the noise is deafening.

For many, the instinctive response is fear, speculation, or the temptation to chase every new theory. But for the Watchman, this is not a season for panic. It is a season of clarity and alignment.

The Weapon of Discernment

In my work as a strategic analyst, I spend my days monitoring data, tracking reforms, and interpreting national signals. Yet I’ve learned that the most important monitoring does not happen on a dashboard—it happens in the spirit. The times demand more than intelligence; they demand discernment.

To navigate 2026 faithfully, we must become workmen who need not be ashamed—believers who can rightly divide truth from noise, signal from distraction, prophecy from propaganda. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, and so our responses cannot be either. We don’t counter global instability with louder arguments or sharper political commentary. We stand with spiritual tools that cut deeper than analysis ever could:

  • The Belt of Truth: anchoring us in a world drowning in misinformation and half‑truths.

  • The Two‑Edged Sword: the Word that discerns “the thoughts and intents” behind global shifts, national decisions, and cultural movements.

  • The Oil of the Spirit: keeping our lamps trimmed, our hearts steady, and our vision clear as we await the Blessed Hope.

These are not poetic metaphors; they are survival tools for a generation living at the intersection of prophecy and policy.

Watching the Horizon, Building the Foundation

Whether examining the alignment of the so‑called “Kings of the East” or engaging the daily realities of national development here in Nigeria, our posture must remain the same: Kind, Clear, and Bold. We build sustainable foundations for the next generation—institutions, systems, and values that endure. But we build with an eye on eternity.

We work as though we have a hundred years ahead of us, yet we watch as though we have only tonight. This is the paradox of the Watchman: fully present, yet fully aware.

The Invitation

This space; this blog, is where policy meets prophecy, where analysis meets anticipation. Together, we will explore what it means to be a “Wise Master Builder” in an age of “Vain Imaginations,” and how to stand steady when the world feels unsteady.

So I ask you: Which headline is challenging your peace today? Let’s look at it through the lens of the Word in the comments.
